Advisory Bodies

MSCC, CISAC, CISAC-YC and CIGIAG provide a formal mechanism for establishing and maintaining dialogue and for exchanging ideas between and among their members and The Maritime Authority of The Cayman Islands, with a view to maintaining and improving the quality of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry as well as promoting its interests generally.

 
 

CIG Inter Agency Group on Maritime Matters

The Cayman Islands Government Inter Agency Group (CIGIAG) was formed by Cabinet in 2015 and is tasked with developing a National Maritime Strategy for the Cayman Islands and preparing CIG for any forthcoming audit by IMO against the III Code.  The IAG works under the Chairmanship of the Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce and Environment. Membership in the IAG is drawn from ministries, departments and agencies within CIG that have an interest in maritime matters.

Cayman Islands Shipowners’ Advisory Council (CISAC)

The CISAC is a forum through which to establish and maintain dialogue and an exchange of ideas between and among its members in the merchant sector and the Cayman Islands maritime administration, in order to maintain and improve the quality of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry and to promote its interests more broadly. Maritime Sector Consultative Committee (MSCC)

The MSCC was created as a forum where members of the private sector can offer advice and recommendations to the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry.  The MSCC consistently evaluates all aspects of the maritime services sector and provides practical recommendations to ensure its continued growth and viability. Cayman Islands Shipowners’ Advisory Council – Yacht Committee (CISAC - YC)

The CISAC - YC is a forum that aims to establish and maintain dialogue and an exchange of ideas between and among its members within the yacht sector and the Cayman Islands maritime administration, in order to maintain and improve the quality of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry as well as promote its interests more broadly.
