The Cayman Registry, a division of Cayman Maritime, was established in 1903 and today the Register covers the full spectrum of vessel types, including commercial ships and private pleasure yachts. The Registry maintains headquarters in the Cayman Islands and a European Regional Office in Southampton, UK, with global representation in the USA, UK, Italy, France, Netherlands, Monaco, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.
Cayman Maritime (also known as the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands – MACI) recognises several major IT projects to be completed between 2022 and 2024. The current technology and functionality of some critical business systems do not adequately support the current business requirements and the management's strategic vision to grow the organisation globally and reach its clients, wherever they may be in the world.
As MACI grows its business globally, it must have reliable, functional systems to continue providing client-focused attention, ensuring success as a leader and respected ship registry, therefore several initiatives in-line with MACI’s Corporate Targets need to be completed over the next two years.
In general, as an Assistant to the Head of Technology of MACI, the Independent Contractor shall provide project management and advice to the Head Technology on projects and strategic direction aligned to industry standards and trends to ensure the authorities' security and agility to adapt to ever-changing requirements quickly.
More specifically, the Independent Contractor will work directly with the Head Technology to dynamically perform the below significant IT functions in the best interest of MACI’s employees and clients as follows:-
1. Lead/co-lead projects or assist on projects as required by the Head Technology, including, but not limited to, the critical priority items from the Corporate Document, which need to be completed in parallel due to the complex integration:
- Introducing an e-Register;
- Migrating Accounts Receivable from CISIS to Microsoft Dynamics;
- Integrating website online services and e-Register with AX;
2. Help develop and implement monitoring tools and reporting necessary from the risk assessments;
3. Assist with the corrective actions from audits and follow up on any agreed audit findings;
4. Develop, document, and update business processes/IT policies and procedures that strengthen the Authority's internal controls;
5. Provide input into MACl's IT strategic goals and objectives; and
6. Perform any other duties as mutually agreed as may be requested from time to time by the Head Technology and/or CEO.
