In accordance with Chapter V of the SOLAS Convention, Minimum Safe Manning Documents are issued to all ships which are subject to Chapter I of that Convention or to the Large Yacht and Passenger Yacht Codes. To apply for a Minimum Safe Manning Document, the owner or manager of the ship should forward a completed Application Form and supporting documents to Crew Compliance.
Indicative manning levels for yachts can be found in the Manning Policy Manual. The actual manning levels for an individual yacht may differ from that given in the Manning Policy Manual if the particular operational requirements of the yacht warrant deviating from the Manual.
