CISR Showcases at Monaco
In 2008, as it does every year, the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) once again was in attendance at the prestigious Annual Monaco Yacht Show in September; this year marked the 18th consecutive year for the event.
CISR Representatives from George Town headquarters, the European Regional Office in Southampton, U.K., and the Mediterannean office in Cannes, France, all were present at the handsomely appointed booth promoting the Cayman Registry. CISR, a division of the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands, has had a presence for a number of years now at the annual event, deemed the most prestigious yachting event in the world.
"International luxury yachting industry professionals are not mistaken in positioning the MYS as the world's leading superyacht show," says Ms. Exie Tomlinson-Panton, Head of Business Development, who spearheads the CISR's participation at MYS which attracts a global high-end professional and private clientele: 500 exhibitors and an estimated 30,000 participants. "Participating in the show has become a must for industry leaders," believes Ms. Tomlinson-Panton.
The CISR is the global leader in the registration of mega-yachts (private vessels in excess of 120 feet), and many of the world’s biggest and best yachts were on display at the MYS, a significant portion of them seen to be flying the Cayman maritime flag, or "Red Ensign".
CISR Participants declared the 2008 promotional effort a resounding success and plans are already underway for a return in 2009 when CISR hopes to have an even larger presence.
