Organisational Structure

MACI is organised into 4 main service groupings.

  1. Office of the CEO which has 4 main components (not within a Division)
    • Board Matters and Strategy
    • Maritime Policy, Advice and Legislation Development
    • Business Development and Overseas Operations
    • Government-to-MACI, regulator-to-client relationships, and regulator-to-regulator interface
  2. Three Divisions
    • Registration, HR and Administration
    • Finance, IT, MACI Consulting (headed by a Coordinator) and Board Secretary
    • Safety (Survey, Audit, Inspection and Investigation)
  3. Five Sections (within Divisions but headed by Section Heads)
    • Yachts
    • Statutory Compliance and Casualty Investigation
    • Crew Compliance and Port State Control
    • HR and Administration
    • Finance and IT
  4. Four Areas (not within a Division)
    • Client Relationships Management (headed by a Manager)
    • Quality Systems (headed by a Manager)
    • Business Development and Corporate Communications (headed by a Manager)
    • Events and Special Projects (headed by a Coordinator)

MACI directly employs 30 persons at Head Office in Cayman and 9 in the European Regional Office located in the UK with one in each of Holland and Greece.  MACI also hires 2 full-time advisors (1 for maritime policy/legislation and 1 for business development/overseas operations) both based in Head Office.

MACI hires one part-time consultant surveyor and one part-time consultant business development specialist, both based in the UK.

Athenian Shipbrokers (Greece) provides representation through 2 persons based in Greece, and Pylant and Associates (USA) provides representation through one person based in Japan.
