The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) is currently seeking applications for suitably qualified companies to provide technical services including surveys, audits & inspections on behalf of the Cayman Islands Government.
Predominantly these services will be provided to yachts and passenger yachts under construction in The Netherlands and Germany, and existing yachts within Europe. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to represent MACI promoting the Flag State in line with the agreed business development strategy.
The successful applicant will have a proven Class or Flag State related background providing similar services to the yachting industry. A thorough knowledge of the International Conventions, Regulations and Codes, including both the Large Yacht and Passenger Yacht Codes.
The qualifications and experience essential for this post are a Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture Degree (or equivalent) and at least 5 years’ experience as a Marine Surveyor with a Classification Society, or recognised Flag State, with.
Ideally, the applicant will be registered with the Engineering Council as a Chartered Engineer and be member of a recognised professional body.
